IT 415 Intermediate Java Programming


Course Description:

This course considers JAVA web container application developement forJAVA enterprise systems. The primary focus is on JAVA database connectivity(JDBC) integration with web application programming ,Java enterprise edition (Java EE) framework.
Servlets, Java Server Pages(JSP), tag libraries(JSTL) and java server faces(JSF) programing topics in conjunction with the Connector Architecture API are covered. A web application term project considers the design and implementation of a database instance that serves as the information tier in a contemporary 3-tier enterprise solution using SUN Microsystem's Application Server 9.0 web container.

Prerequisites:

Students must have completed IIT's IT 411 Java Programming course or should have equivalent background in Java.

Expected Outcomes:

Students will learn to use an IDE such as JBuilder or Visual Cafe, create Java Beans, Java Server Pages, and Java Servlets and use XML with Java.

    12. Custom Tags and Scripting in JSP
    13. Java Server Faces Technology and Java Server Faces in JSP
    14. Custom UI Components and JSF Application Configuration
    15. Internationalising and Localizing Web Applications
